A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

We're at least all on the same page. It's a start. And better than where we were last week.

Depends on the next steps. Some might see it as just a bone tossed to the rest of us to keep us quiet for a while

2 C is a foregone conclusion. The bigger question is how far beyond it will we go?

is "the way to go."

The next step is carrot and stick--rewards for good behavior, punishment for bad.

But you can't start beating on people without establishing ground rules. The specifics come later.

I think knocking the Paris achievement is incredibly churlish. I almost wonder if some people enjoy failure and stagnation--the way some people griped, you'd think so.

I tire of the eagerness to minimize and denigrate the achievements of the Obama administration. We wouldn't have seen shit under President McCain--people don't seem to appreciate that.

all these pols are secretly confessing to one another that "we can survive 2" and then reassuring their fossil fuel industries that all is not lost.

Bargaining with the future of our species--that ought to end well.
