When his spokesperson mused about using atomic weapons, I think alarm bells went off in a lot of places. There are already grumblings in the Pentagon.
Trump has said many things that cross the lines of decency. The nuclear remark is a whole other level. Just having somebody like him in the White House would ratchet up tension enormously around the world. For all the complaints about PBO, he was not considered someone likely to go off half-cocked.
The PTB are going to get to him one way or another. They want the world destroyed slowly so they can make money. I doubt they are thrilled with the thought of nuclear annihilation.

(50,986 posts)bid for the White House. What's bad about Trump is that his careless and cruel use of language is bigoted and polarizing.
There is also a very strong undercurrent of violence in many of his public remarks.
The world is far more complex and layered a place than Trump's "Hulk Smash" perspective. He seems to appeal to a lot of voters who are more angry than thoughtful. That demographic is not good in a Constitutional republic.

(53,339 posts)I haven't seen him address her comment directly yet, but he sort of did it indirectly when he accused Fiorina (not by name) of wanting WWIII. He said anyone who refuses to talk to Putin must want World War III.

His national polling remains strong but he's running it mostly on bluster.

(50,986 posts)and that's perfect Trumpspeak.
Reporters will ask him what he proposes to replace this or that Obama program. Trump tells them, "I'll replace it with something terrific."

(7,820 posts)There is no "too far" for him. I don't *think* he appeals to enough Americans to actually win the General, but there are a lot of people buying his schtick, and to those who like it the bluster just seems to help him.

I am talking about the PTB who want the world to run relatively smoothly.
