http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251929551#post31It's a hidden post at the link above but is still readable ...don't click "show."
On edit: For the pie-throwers, those mocking my simple request, I can't unread it but wish I could. Although it's not of earth-shaking importance, maybe others do care and it's no skin off your nose anyway, right?

(63,219 posts)Don't "show" the post unless you've seen the film or don't care about spoilers.

Yes, revealing spoilers is not nice, but that's the risk you take.

(26,582 posts)1. My basic position is this:
1. Not posting spoilers in subject lines is common courtesy.
2. If you want to avoid spoilers, you really shouldn't be hanging out on the Internet.

(30,481 posts)If you don't want to know Hans Solo went the way of the Sanders campaign. Seriously. If it's as big as you say, which it isn't, it's public information and this is a discussion board. Seem to be very selective in what you want sensored and what you don't. The movie is out. Don't want to read about it? Don't go on the Internet. It's being discussed damn near everywhere.

h/t Amy Winehouse.

(30,481 posts)There are people with lives who went out with family and friends over the weekend and DVRed it for tonight. All current topics should have a one week moratorium on discussion. Winehouse was such a great talent.

(12,157 posts)I trashed the words Star Wars. I used my back button to get to you OP but when I refresh I won't be able to see it anymore.

(41,694 posts)It's all over the place. Even Yahoo had it on their home page at one point.

(46,585 posts)... to remain spoiler-free. The poster didn't bother with posting a warning which is widely accepted internet etiquette and simple common courtesy, and would have prevented spoiling it for me and others who unknowingly clicked on it.

(25,586 posts)Seriously, I'm the biggest Star Wars geek ever, but you don't banhammer people for a freakin' movie spoiler.
Even a Star Wars spoiler.
Want to avoid spoilers? Stay off the internet and go see the damned movie.

(81,869 posts)I saw the movie Thursday night. There are big spoilers and small ones. That's as big as it gets. Don't think that posting it is accidental. They knew what they were doing.
Codeine
(25,586 posts)It's a spoiler. Spoilers don't violate the ToS. There's no banhammer justified here.

(11,238 posts)Had recorded it to watch the next evening, but during the day I was doing a Google search for something else & saw the winner's name in a headline. It was a bummer to know the outcome, but it just meant I watched the finale in a different way.

(25 posts)Anyone who thinks a person should be banned for posting a spoiler really needs to get out of their mom's basement more often.
Why the post was hidden is also a complete mystery. I don't recall anything in the TOS about not posting publicly available information.
LynneSin
(95,337 posts)It's just a common courtesy to not post them or put a huge *** SPOILERS *** in the title so people know.
Star Wars is a very beloved movie by many of us here at DU and as much as I want to talk about all the interesting things that happened in the movie, I'd rather just wait a month or so until I know the bulk of DUers have had a chance to see the movie.
Because the spoilers in the movie are huge and I know when I saw the movie I was able to appreciate it even more knowing that nothing was revealed ahead of time to me.
But I will say that the second time that I saw the movie nothing was ruined knowing what happened but I did have to contain myself when I knew something big was about to happened because the friend with me was seeing it for the first time and I didn't want to spoil anything for her.

(11,138 posts)I'm amazed you've ever read the TOS, let alone feel like you have an opinion on the workings of DU that anyone should care about. Maybe it would be wise to take things slow and get your feet wet before chastising other DUers. Unless you are wearing socks of course.
