We are experiencing some really, really serious weather this morning with tornado warnings since about 4AM.
I'm especially worried about the DUer in Cherokee County right now (sorry, forgot your user name) as that part of the area is just covered up in lightening, hail and strong winds.
I'll admit it, I'm frazzled. These storms started last night with intense lightening, thunder and rain that literally has shaken the house most of the night.
Be safe GA DUers, this is crazy weather.

(522 posts)We are ok, two storm cells over the last hour or so, high winds, thunder and lightening, heavy rain, but no hail. Neighbor just came over to check on us, their townhouse, just next to ours, is flooding. Our lot is well graded, sloping away from the house, we should be fine. Not looking forward to a drive to my son's later in the morning. Will wait for a break before leaving.
7 dead in MS, TN, AL from tornadoes since yesterday.
I'm glad I made no plans to travel.
24 tornadoes on the ground in 6 states since last night.

(58,785 posts)We were expecting "just rain" and weren't particularly looking forward to today's drive from central Florida to Lawrenceville as it was. Just looked at the map. May start out later -- and call our son to make sure the dip in the road into their neighborhood hasn't flooded.
Happy life-giving rain for the holidays, though.

(3,182 posts)as long as possible. We have had massive amounts of rain since yesterday afternoon and the roads are simply treacherous right now. Local news is describing road conditions on my TV right now as "chaos."

(522 posts)A couple miles off exit 8, Friendship Rd. I'm calling him before I leave to see how things stand then. We should be both getting a break about 11 or 12. I am planning on leaving here about 11.
Stay safe!

(58,785 posts)(thanks, Glitterati), and as a result we lucked in and came through a gap in the big front. Traffic in town wasn't too bad by the time we got there, but the kids said the storm was pretty wild earlier in the day.
Merry Christmas! It's time for a Lego battle.

(30,947 posts)I live in Canton, which did have some heavy rain, lightning and thunder last night. But it is not raining now, which gave me the opportunity to go to Kroger.

(3,182 posts)I just drew a complete blank on your username, but I was worried about your safety at 5:30 this morning when all hell was breaking loose and they were saying on the news that the worst was in Cherokee county.
Good to know you're safe!
