(5,402 posts)First, this isn't a TED Talk, it is a TEDx talk, meaning it is independently organized. She's also pushing a right-wing book.
The autism vaccination thing and her suspicion of snopes and wikipedia and her use of unsourced claims and statistics are problematic.
I don't doubt that the things she describes occur, but it seems like she is an agent of chaos herself, trying to cast doubt on some reliable sources of information.
I'd be careful with this, Scuba.

(43,049 posts)from at least Ben Franklin has been propaganda. NYC at one time had at least 100 newspapers, each aimed at a particular ethnic, religious or political persuasion.
In college I took a PR course from a retired NY Post editor who started out telling us every single news outlet was propaganda, and it was up to us to work it out. This from a guy who worked at the old Dolly Schiff Post, pre-Murdoch, when it had some roots in the Jewish Daily Forward.
The Times and Herald-Tribune tried to keep their heads above the fray, but didn't quite make it all the time. The Journal-American? That was Hearst's baby, and a paragon of impartial truth he was...
