I've heard that there is not only a big protest planned but that organized anti-Trump folks have been scooping up the free tickets and will either not show up or will go and turn their backs on him.

In the city where Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders got his start in politics, some think Trump is visiting to rub it in his opponent's face.
"Donald Trump coming to 'Bernie Sanders land,' a land of peace and freedom and good vibes...Donald Trump is the exact opposite of any of that," Thompson Bond said.
The Flynn Center has taken some heat on social media for signing on to be the venue for Trump's visit. The executive director for the performing arts center said it is by no means a partisan move or endorsement.

The Vermont Republican Party put out a statement about Trump's event, which it is not part of: "Like all presidential candidates, he is welcome to share his thoughts with Vermonters. We hope all candidates will articulate, in a responsible and respectful Vermont way, their ideas for helping to make our state and our nation more affordable and prosperous for working class families."

(8,976 posts)Everyone is reacting exactly like this was a Klan rally and that is a proper way to respond. Just don't over respond because that is the only thing his campaign can get from Vermont that they can spin.
