Thread to call on the Justice Department to let the John Edwards case end NOW.

The man did some bad things.

But no good at all would be served by insisting on a retrial on any of the charges on which the jury deadlocked.

It's gone on long enough.

Edwards' family has suffered enough.

Ms. Hunter has suffered enough.

Any retrial would be a complete waste of taxpayer's money.

Just let it end, for God's sake.

I'll create a petition on change.org tomorrow, if someone hasn't made one. It's late now on the East Coast.

The DOJ should focus all their attention on Florida and not waste time and taxpayer money catering to the GOP in North Carolina.

And just so nobody gets this confused...I'm not saying Edwards was a saint...just that there' s no possible justification for another criminal trial on this whole sordid story. The point is, just let it end.
