NY TIMES EDITORIAL: Depraved Indifference Toward Flint

The 274 pages of emails released under pressure on Wednesday by Gov. Rick
Snyder of Michigan show a cynical and callous indifference to the plight of the
mostly black, povertystricken residents of Flint, who have gone for more than
a year with poisoned tap water that is unsafe to drink or bathe in. There is little
doubt that an affluent, predominantly white community — say Grosse Pointe
or Bloomfield Hills — would never face such a public health catastrophe, and if
it had, the state government would have rushed in to help.
At every juncture when state officials could have avoided or reduced the
harm in Flint, they ignored public pleas and made every effort to dismiss the truth.

100% Mountain Dew or Flint River Water 24/7. They can choose between toxins or kidney stones while hyped up on caffeine and sugar.

that most of the state approves of Governor Snyder and couldn't care less about the great cities that drove Michigan's economy for 100 years, let alone the poor people that still struggle to live in them.

The soul of the Great State of Michigan has been gnawed by Koch-roaches and other vermin. The state that was pivotal in the Underground Railroad has turned its back upon the children of slaves. Or immigrants. Or of the wrong religious beliefs.

We need to Occupy Michigan and take it over. Nothing less will do the trick. You cannot shame the shameless.

After failing to win the Democratic nomination to oppose Snyder in the gubernatorial campaign of 2010, he was invited to serve as State Treasurer.

The memos Snyder released say Dillon was the official who made the call to OK the switch to Flint River water.

Dillon said he thought Flint wouldn't be using the water to drink. Honest.
