but here is a piece of trivia. The most dangerous rooms in any home are the master bedroom (see reason for this story) and the kitchen. The latter has a LOT of weapons.

I've seen news reports that say this was a pediatric emergency. In other words, a child was having a seizure. Regardless, the homeowner woke up and shot the firefighter through the door.

What's also strange is that while the homeowner is now in custody, the rest of the family is refusing to cooperate. Police asked if they could search the home for evidence, but the family insists they won't let law enforcement enter without a search warrant.

talk to the police. Not much point in having rights if people are going to be stupid and ignore them.

Bear in mind I am sure the homeowner is in the wrong here but whether you commit a crime or not cooperating with the police is a bad idea.
