It's a P.R. thing, an image thing. It has nothing to do with what the Democrats "say" about Republicans.
It's the Republican party's "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain" moment.
Problem is, everyone is paying attention.
It's every Republican candidate in our lifetime, without the mask. That's Trump.

(18,837 posts)He used Trump as a reference point. But what he's saying...and I'm sure he did not intend to say it...is that the objection to Trump is that he is the personification of a stereotype, but he's not. He's a Republican without the mask and they depend on that mask for votes.
I'm not trying to say Medved is gifted or insightful. I'm saying he was unintentionally honest, and by that definition, he unintentionally nailed it.
