The town had no snowplows. They made a deal with the Feds to get some of the main streets plowed but none of the side streets got plowed. That crap had to melt.

I would hope postal workers are home, drinking coffee, watching TV, listening to the wind.

Thanks for the quote!

Also, don't be so sure..."Mom" has multiple arms to get the job done.

The New Twenty First Century Robber Baron, Amazon. (Not that that fact is their fault - it is the fault of the Congress, under a totally Democratic Majority at that point in time. Funny how a few dozen lobbyists can destroy an institution of democracy!)

It's what Wall Street wants.

Hint: Democrats can be critical of the USPS, but we can cut some slack on a day when the city wants everyone off the road. Have you considered how snow-worthy those vehicles may be? We need them stuck in the snow? Are half the walks shoveled? Maybe they could have borrowed a whole bunch of sled dogs.

You're better than this, BK-ite. I know you are and I am rooting for you!

that's not a law, it's a quote from Herodotus put on the NY central Post Office.
I'd rather wait until Monday and have my Postal worker unharmed.

And even then, they couldn't deliver larger parcels.

We had 30" of snow at the airport in the Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) with blowing/drifting snow and whiteout conditions. Only the main roads were barely passable; the secondary roads and side streets were practically impassable, especially with 4' snow drifts. There was no way the mail trucks could leave the post office, let alone get onto the roads to deliver mail.

We haven't had mail since Wednesday. We also have been stuck in the house since yesterday. Sure, living in the boonies has its ups, but the downs are really down.

Thankfully though, we still have power. Last February we didn't have power for 14 days.
