(14,691 posts)I could see the WTC from here. For a while after I moved to this apt. that sight stopped me in my tracks every time I came home at night. Then I got used to it. Then it was gone.
OTOH I see the new WTC now.

(28,082 posts)and I can't imagine what it was like for you on 9/11. It seemed odd enough to me, a visitor, the first time I was in lower Manhattan - and it was a few years afterwards that I got back.
I'm trying to convince the friend I normally go there with (we travel so well together) that we should go this spring. Keeping my fingers crossed.

After 9/11 I saw smoke for many weeks and an empty space - which has now been partially filled by the new WTC.
