The World Really Hates Donald Trump

<snip>

With the Iowa caucuses just days away, people simply cannot understand how a man like Donald Trump could run a successful presidential campaign in the world’s most powerful nation.

“People are in disbelief; they think he is borderline crazy,” Magnús Sveinn Helgason, an Icelandic historian who worked on the national inquiry into Iceland’s financial crash, told The Daily Beast. “People are kind of scared about what it would be like to live in a world where he is one of the most powerful leaders.”

The interest and hostility toward Trump peaked after his remarks about banning Muslims from the country. A correspondent in Nigeria, a nation of more than 70 million Muslims, says: “Trump was trending on social media and believe me, he was the one man on earth Nigerians hated the most. He still is.”

I've heard a lot of talking heads who believe his support just won't go out and actually vote for the fool.
One hopes.

We have to hope an Iowa loss pops his balloon. Of course, then we have to worry about Cruz so we would have to hope his balloon pops right after Donald's.

for the people who think they are exceptional and don't care what anyone else thinks. The base of that electorate are the same 27% that remained loyal to babyBush through thick and thin.

I hate typing this. I really do but if trump wins Iowa, the republican primary is essentially over.

He is polling less than 40% of a minority of a minority. His claims of HUGENESS are infecting political discussion.

teach ESL to international students, almost all of whom are aghast at 5he prospect of Trump as President. Its weird that, as a teacher, I feel I must always apologize to them for our political immaturity.

13. The GOP establishment is screwed unless they persuade some of the nonviable non-Trump candidates

to drop out so their voters can unite behind just one of the establishment's preferred candidates--Bush or Rubio, most likely.

Their problem is that with so many candidates, Trump doesn't need more than about 30% of the votes to win.

Fortunately, the Republican candidates are all such narcissists that they refuse to be the sacrificial dropouts.

No surprise that people like Trump are rising from those ashes.

Wonder what the plutocrats will do when Hillary's gone after her installation as president. Our party will be the same as theirs: devoid of any significant names, personalities, or any direction. How much longer can the media contain this sad situation?
