Since the votes are not yet in, I'm reduced to watching Trump sitting. May I share a thought!

I'm watching him sit beside his wife-model and yes, she is a picture of beauty and restraint. I think of what she would be like as first lady, and then that thought goes as fast as it comes.
I know that I am more emotional than intellectual, and more visual than analytical so I may be a bore to some. Though I believe there must be room for the opinion of folks like me under our big tent.

When I say I have observed before, and very much am observing tonight, that this man treats his wife like a hopefully fragrant and needed rose in his lapel that does not need to be addressed, to whom he does not need to turn his face, with whom he does not even think to have any interaction verbal or otherwise in any damn language, and ultimately she sits in a huge room filled with folks who are strangers to her and he does not even
as the rose that she is
turn to her
and smell her
or by taking her hand acknowledge her displacement
then
I am so disgusted by that it makes it hard to breathe without pain looking at this "sister" of mine being objectified, and left to flounder in a sea of utter discomfort as a stranger in a strange place.

And it makes me think of our present POTUS and FLOTUS and makes me happy that we had that team while we did.

He has a problem with Women..and even though his sons and daughter seem to have turned out OKAY.. there is something there that seems he favors Objectified Women and when they don't meet his expectations...he is kind to them but then tosses them out. He does seem to have a good relationship with daughter Ivanka..but, who knows what that is about except that children of Fathers who Abused Females often have "conflicted opinions" later on in life.

All we know is that "The Donald" gave his Real Estate Empire to his three oldest kids and they love him and are happy with him. Yet...we know "Big Money" often soothes family disputes until the Benefactor Dies. Then the "Troubles Begin."

Just Saying...

seem to have been picked by Trump in part because they are very submissive and passive, this is easy to see but has also been noted in many articles. Trump essentially has "yes men" for wives.

Melania seems miserable this past half year, and as you said, she seems very alone as the candidate's wife. If you look at candid photos of her taken since Trump announced his candidacy, she looks friggin' miserable. She used to smile and engage the paparazzi.

I also imagine that her age (45) and aging is extra tough for her as Donald Trump's wife. Is he really going to have a fifty-something wife?

I find it all very interesting. I feel bad for Melania.

He had his billionaire friend, Phil Ruffin, and Ruffin's wife, appear on stage that night. Ruffin is 80 and his wife, Oleksandra, is 34. Oleksandra is/was a Ukrainian model. (Melania was also present at the event, sitting front row.)

at the veteran's event - Oleksandra at left and her husband Phil at podium

What was going on the mind of the Ruffins and the Trumps at this event?! Do the men realize that they went the classic route of the rich old man who marries a massively younger, Eastern European model wife? What goes through the heads of Melania and Oleksandra? Which woman got the better "deal?" Do they look at each other and silently acknowledge they are both trophy wives? Fascinating!

I can't stand most of the candidates and that one in particular. I don't know if he is even capable of treating anyone, especially women, with any kind of respect.

I would be found shallow - but ultimately knew better - and I knew feeling this immense sadness for her based on nothing but observation is mine, and I own it. It also crossed my mind I would be judged prejudiced to immigrants, but ultimately I knew I came here on a coal freighter with no more than basic English and 40 dollars, so I knew I could own that one as well.
I'm coming in on this thread again because I did not mention that I think this disdainful taking his wife for granted and ignoring her shows me without a shadow of a doubt:

This man is emotionally sick and crippled. And the American people (i.e. his family=wife) are of absolutely no consequence to the objectives of salving the sick ego of numero uno.
