Sadly, the people who most need to understand this info will probably ignore it. Willful ignorance sucks. I rec'd this in the hope that it might reach someone new. Extremely important to understand what has happened in ourr party.

5. Given how radical the GOP has become...

... and given that we have only a two-party system in this country, what's a poor Republican to do? I am quite certain that hordes of Republicans have become Democrats because there is nowhere else for them to flee; and having entered the party, naturally they strive to remake it in their image. This process has been going on for some time. If there has also been an intent to stage a coup within the Party to put in "stealth" Republicans masquerading as Democrats, it has clearly worked well, bringing us to the place we are today.

Republicans call themselves "Compassionate Conservatives" and we have Third Wayers calling themselves "Progressives." mom mod, post #39, talks about Gore and Kerry rolling over rather than fighting for Democrats. Today, Hillary's supporters have usurped the Republican "Sore Loserman" meme.

I've been calling it out since Obama got elected noting that suddenly, things we cared about under the Bush admin, we no longer care about. It's really disturbing.
