Superior Court judge says Nazi dad can't have his four kids back (named son after Hitler)

A Superior Court judge has decided that a self-proclaimed Nazi from Holland Township and his wife cannot take back their four children, three of whom were named in honor of the Nazis, the father said yesterday.

The children have been in state custody since January 2009, shortly after the family made headlines when a store refused to decorate a birthday cake for Adolf Hitler Campbell, the oldest child.

The then 3-year-old boy and younger sisters Joycelynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell were quickly put into foster care, and state officials allegedly took a newborn son, Hons Campbell, just hours after his birth in November at Hunterdon Medical Center.

Their father, Heath Campbell, questioned Superior Court Judge Robert Reed’s decision to keep the children in state custody. It had nothing to do with quality of life, he said, and was based purely on the names they chose for the children.

WCAU's story about this decision reports: "A New Jersey appeals court ruled in August 2010 that there was sufficient evidence of abuse or neglect because of domestic violence in the home, and though there was a gag order for both parties in the case (which the Campbells have broken multiple times to deny the allegations), authorities have stated in the past that putting the children into the foster system had nothing to do with their names."

Last year, WCAU reported:

Court records state that both parents were victims of childhood abuse and both are unemployed and suffering from unspecified physical and psychological disabilities.

Neither Campbell has been adequately treated for their psychological conditions, court records said. Thirty-seven-year-old Heath can’t read and Deborah dropped out of high school before finishing the 10th grade.
