Five bodies found in smoldering car in Arizona desert

By David Schwartz

PHOENIX | Sat Jun 2, 2012 8:49pm EDT

(Reuters) - The bodies of five people burned beyond recognition were found on Saturday inside a smoldering SUV in a desert between Phoenix and the Mexican border that is a popular route for smuggling migrants and drugs, a local sheriff said.

The discovery came in the Vekol Valley in Pinal County, and investigators were looking for any possible suspect connected to the deaths, said Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu.

Early on Saturday, U.S. Border Patrol agents spotted a white Ford Explorer in the area that was parked off the side of Interstate 8, Babeu said.

When the agents tried to approach the sport utility vehicle, its driver sped away into the darkness and the agents lost track of it and issued a request for other law enforcement to look for the SUV, Babeu said.

4. An extreme latino hit man, against dozens of naive older white men.

Yeah, I didn't see anything too profiled about that.

Seriously. What were the chances of one killer coming across that many naive white men at one time? I'm surprised they allowed him to get that close to them.

Whatever. If I had to coin a title for a book to talk about the kind of crookedness that goes on in white islands in Florida today, it would be: A country for old men.

What I wrote, from memory:

It was an alright movie. I remember that generation. Some were nice old men, others were bastards. The movie was just too one-sided.

I don't think he was intended to be Mexican in the movie - he didn't have any accent. I think the book also said that he was a Vietnam veteran, but I could be wrong about that.

Did you see the movie?

Everything from Russian to intentionally indistinguishable ethnic wise. But everyone agrees he's the personification of evil.

However, one can't help but notice the major difference in skin coloring between him, and "the good guys."

But you know what? This wasn't the most whacked out thing that was revealed today in Arizona. Between Jan Brewer's son and Ken Bennett's son, this is almost acceptable human behavior.

And he's already trying to make ideologial/political hay with this, despite the fact that illegal border crossings are at the lowest point in years.

you can bet it wouldn't have "sped away in the darkness" and been lost.

wtf are we spending all that DHS money for if border control can't even follow an SUV at night?

The article seems to imply that the car crashed without clearly saying so. Maybe they were smuggling undocumented aliens or drugs.
