The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Has there ever been a more boring spectacle in the history of t.v. Seriously, the same dull music playing over and over for hours on end, as boats slowly float down the river, while royals stoically wave to their adoring subjects.

And is still popular with the majority of the citizenship?
Mubarak - they're pissed he didn't get the death penalty.
I'm dual citizenship UK and US. I lived half my life in the UK then moved to the US. Having lived through eight presidential elections, and seen the increasingly nasty campaigns, the election frauds and the complete polarisation of the country, I finally gave up and moved back to the UK. I've come to appreciate a system where half the population doesn't automatically hate the Head of State because they voted for the other guy. The Queen has no power other than advisory to the actual guy in charge, the Prime Minister.

That she was bored shitless by it all too, but is too polite to let her displeasure show.

A 3-hour parade of boats passing by whilst you're stood in the pissing rain on a miserable (typically British) June day, when is that ever not boring?

Actually, I wasn't really watching. It was on and I noticed it as I walked around the house.
