because they continue to vote Republican despite their policies of cutting social programs while providing tax cuts for the rich. They think they'll be just fine without those evil 'robbin' hood soshulized programs', and that they too can be rich with Republicans in power. This video explains it all:

I live in Atlanta and the city is surrounded by many conservatives including some that may be related to some of the stars in this video BUT....this represents a stark expose of how uninformed these people are.

I could deal with the guys that were all about white people. I couldn't deal with the guy saying he deserved food stamps because he doesn't have a job. I do have to wonder how he lost half of his teeth.

I laugh at the man that says if we let God be back in charge everything will be wonderful. Even as a Christian, I don't believe God is going to dig us out of this mess. He gave us brains and the ability to think. He expects US to figure this out, not Her.

The one that is probably the saddest from my point of view is the one that hates Obamacare. When the interviewer points out that many in his state need healthcare he has NOTHING to say. He has listened to Rush and Hannity until he can't think clearly.

I have a friend dying of colon cancer. He was shuttled to a county hospital where the surgeon never communicated with the oncologist and they took the wrong steps. His survival rate dropped from 75% to less than 25%. He is unemployed, no health insurance. He spent 2 months in a hospital this year with 3 operations to clear his colon of damage done by the original surgeon. After two months they just dumped him out of the hospital.

He has been fighting to get SS disability and other state benefits but of course those applications are always denied on first application. He is living in a modest apartment, cannot afford a caregiver and subject to eviction.

Yes, this is America, the greatest nation on earth. Far from it we should be ashamed of how we treat one another. God is crying......

The one that is probably the saddest from my point of view is the one that hates Obamacare.

There were some poll results on MSNBC shows this weekend about Obama. It seems that only

27% of Americans are in favor of it and

67% of Americans oppose it!

WE DESERVE OUR MISERABLE FATES AT THE HANDS OF OUR CORPORATE OVERLORDS! Democracy don't work in the hands of the stupid!

say the oppose Obamacare, but when questioned on specific provisions, the majority polled support those provisions.

People have no idea what they are talking about when they say the oppose Obamacare. The level of willful ignorance in this country is appalling.

... MA version which was patterned after the Rep response to the Clinton's proposals in the early 90s.

The fact that people think it is all that - hell it IS corporate authored - just because a Dem "came up" with it put those folks in the same league as the Republican hoi polloi that always vote for their overlords against their own interests. YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT, you EAT WHATEVER YOU ARE FED FROM AN OSTENSIBLE DEMOCRAT and laugh at those who are no more irrational than you.

It is by intent that your friend is dying.

It's called social Darwinism, the extermination of 'useless eaters' (as defined by the Plutocracy). It's not being done by cattle cars or Mongolian-style massacres, it's now being done by deprivation and "the market".

It's murder, separated by degrees of culpability.

want to cry. Where DO we even start? They listen to somebody so they
have the time but don't seem to want to even hear the opposing set of
views. Why do people vote against their interests? I know we all think
of these questions and that they're falling on deaf ears but.............these
are the people who will vote for Romney.

Religion. The more religious the more right-wing, the more religious the less tolerant, and the more religious the less thoughtful.

It's about racism. They only use religion as a foil so no one will figure it out. I think it's racism which has become a banshee wail fueled by fear and rage carefully fanned into white hot potency by the likes of Rush and Hannity. And other weasels making themselves wealthy beyond their wildest dreams by whipping up the lowest form of emotions.

any good southerner was a republican, long before Mellon-Sciafe, Murdock, or The Limp One. Southern life is centered around their churches and most of the white ones preach hatred and have for generations.

Granted, that was in the 60s. Perhaps things have changed mirroring the Republican long coup from Reagan's days. And, of course, though I never saw or felt any racism in my mother's family it could have changed with Obama being President. I don't keep in touch since my mother died because of other reasons, but bigotry and racism aren't one of the reasons.

in full accord, that religion is deployed as the foil for racism.

The crying shame in this is that racism (classification of people by a non-essential characteristic, i.e., skin pigmentation) becomes the mechanism by which the working class is kept divided against itself and the 1% remains untouched and unaccountable. Same applies to sexism and most other -isms - they use non-essential characteristics to distract people from essential characteristics, i.e., their relationship to the means of production.

It really gives you a glimpse into how people are propagandized into voting against their own best interest.
At one point, the wealthy family that's profiled struggles with adding plumbing so that twin goat heads mounted over their fireplace can weep into buckets below.
This episode is must see TV.
