Wisc. Assemblyman Jon Richards accuses Atty General of targeting Dem polling places on election day

Attorney General to target Democratic regions of Wisconsin on election day.
by Representative Jon Richards - Sunday, June 3, 2012

Honorable J. B. Van Hollen
Attorney General
Wisconsin Department of Justice
Madison, WI 53707-7857

Dear Attorney General Van Hollen:

I am writing to express my strong concern with your election day plans to send Assistant Attorneys General and Special Agents to select Wisconsin communities.

Simply looking at the list of locations where you are sending and not sending your officers, it is hard to not view this as a political effort. While you plan to send nine teams to the cities of Milwaukee and Madison, you fail to send any of your officers to Washington or Ozaukee Counties, and only one team to Waukesha County.

Washington, Ozaukee, and Waukesha Counties are some of the highest turnout counties in the state. Likewise, the cities of Waukesha, Brookfield and New Berlin, within Waukesha County, are major cities that are of comparable size and which deserve the same attention you are giving to Appleton, Wausau, Beloit and La Crosse.

The citizens of Wisconsin deserve and expect fair elections regardless of where they live--and should not be targeted by state agents because of their political affiliation. Therefore, in the interest of fairness and equal protection, I request that you allocate extra teams of state attorneys and special agents to Washington, Ozaukee, and Waukesha Counties.

Areas with traditionally high Republican turnout deserve the same level of scrutiny that the Department of Justice is giving areas with traditionally high Democratic turnout. Please revise the Department of Justice’s election day activities to serve all Wisconsinites, regardless of party, and not just the interests of the Republican Party. I look forward to your immediate reply.

Sincerely,

JON RICHARDS
State Representative
Assembly District 19

You caught me off guard with that one and I nearly choked to death laughing. I can't even listen to him. His name defies pronunciation and the things he says make absolutely no sense. Who are these people talking to? They know the gig is up. Scottie's going to get booked the day after anyway.

Jun 2012

MADISON Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ), as a part of its ongoing election integrity efforts, will be sending assistant attorneys general and special agents from the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to various polling locations across the state on Recall Election Day (Tuesday, June 5, 2012), to assist local election officials and ensure compliance with state laws governing elections.

Seven teams will be assigned to Milwaukee (in cooperation with the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office) and two will be assigned to Madison. One team will operate in each of the following communities: Appleton, Green Bay, Racine/Kenosha, Waukesha, Eau Claire, Wausau, Janesville/Beloit and La Crosse. A similar effort is anticipated for this year’s General Election in November. All of the attorneys and agents who serve as election monitors are trained and prepared to assist state and local election officials and law enforcement.

“The June recall election is a significant event in our state’s history. The people of Wisconsin need to have confidence that their rights are being protected and the laws are being followed,” Attorney General Van Hollen said.

in the past, attorneys for voting machine manuracturers have been involved in things like this, and "agents" have been reps from voting machine vendors...

Where the magic numbers always seem to come in last...

Where the clerk has "recused herself" from tallying votes...

Where Brookfield votes always seem to be enough to swing an election...

"Move on. There is nothing to see here."

And miles and miles of trails, family farms, smalltown charm with mom n pop run stores. Politics aside, my neighbors are pretty amazing people. This state used to be purple, not spots of blue and red. We used to be able to work together politically. That is why Walker must go. I'm sick of dividing. This is a great state. Even this county, thank you.
