One of the great justices in the history of the Court gets questioned as to whether he's soft on Communism, and as to whether he's an underground agent of the Vatican conspiracy. And he's a recess appointment, and he gets confirmed anyway. Even this little episode in political history makes infinitely more sense than whatever carnival of idiocy the Senate Republicans have planned for whomever the president nominates.

(60,336 posts)It will be seen as one of the darkest periods of our governments history. The hate the GOP has for the President will be studied in the future and used to teach others how horrible racism is. The obstructionism will be seen for what it is and written about.
McConnell and his band of pigs will be recognized to be more detrimental to democracy than McCarthy.

It will be a study in the disgrace that the republican party brought upon the country and the long lasting corrosive political environment it created.

I know people say not to let politics interfere, but how can you look at the insanity that is the republican party & support that? That is a whole different mindset & world view.
