I really wish that there was one. I was kind of shocked that there isn't. Has anybody tried or is using Tap-A-Talk at all and is it compatible with DU?

(40,416 posts)There is no need for an app because DU already works wonderfully without one.
So DU, save the effort and keep up the good work.
I have an iPhone and an iPad. Both are great on DU, the former not much on many other sites; the latter much better on other sites.
Consider also, apps tend to reduce functions compared to direct access via browser.
I would be against any DU app development. There are only so many resources available for DU development. And since mobile works very well as it is, diverting effort to development of an app would impede the already excellent mobile experience that already exists.
So, No to the DU app.

(40,416 posts)Could it be a browser issue?
I use Safari, which is a sucky browser. But DU is by far the fastest Web site I go to. Note: I have no broadband INet or Cable available here, so my only access is via the cellular network. Regardless, DU is the top in my experience, again BY FAR! It's interface on mobile is really, really great.
YMMV, obviously.

(25,586 posts)There are some discussion sites that I wish would adopt a more mobile-friendly approach but DU is pretty darned solid in that area.

Tap-A-Talk does some uncool things. A few technical boards I visit have blocked it.
I don't know anything more about it, but figured it was spyware. Then again, I think Facebook is spyware.
Tap-A-Talk isn't spyware. It's actually pretty sweet. I haven't used in a long while though
