Will Obama nominate a republican for the SCOTUS? (Original Post) SoLeftIAmRight Feb 2016 OP
That certainly removes the 'Supreme Court' threat from the Hillarians. HooptieWagon Feb 2016 #1
I can't imagine he would do that. nt Autumn Feb 2016 #2
I hope that is sarcasm. nt tikka Feb 2016 #4
Might as well vote for Trump in November. longship Feb 2016 #3
If they are playing rope-a-dope, they are taking a big chance of their bluff being called. patricia92243 Feb 2016 #6

If the establishment Democrats are gonna nominate Republican Justices, no reason at all to vote for them.

The extent that there's no difference is the extent that there's no difference. On the other hand...

If Barack Obama nominates a conservative to SCOTUS, he's either mad as a hatter, or he's playing 4-D chess.

I am not sure that I would play the latter game. However, it seems that Harry "Golden Gloves" Reid might be involved. So I would not put it past them that there's not some rope-a-dope going on here.

If that is the case, I give Obama and Reid the upper hand.

As the Zen Master said, "We'll see."

Best to not risk it.

Plus the demoralization to the Democratic party would be horrible to behold. Most people would say why bother to vote.

Barack Obama has not even hinted about a nominee. So the rope-a-dope is still in play. Reid plays in the background, making a suggestion and Obama says nothing. Meanwhile, what is McTurtle going to do?

And by the way, good old Al Franken has taken to the US Senate floor to excoriate McTurtle.
