The GOP is smart

their strategy is taking a hardline position refusing to consider any SC nominee knowing full well Obama would bend over backwards to "compromise" and that's exactly what he did by giving them a republican right-wing nominee. they are playing the president for a fool.

If you are right, McConnell is indeed smarter than Obama. I would not bet on it. pampango Feb 2016 #2

If he nominates Sandoval and the Senate confirms him, you are right. McConnell will have played him for a fool. I would not bet my house on that happening. The talk about Sandoval may well be a trial balloon designed to put McConnell in a box given what he has already said about not considering any nominee from Obama.

He has not given them a nominee at all.

In my opinion, you are overreacting to a news leak.

It seems every single time there is a news leak, folks run around flailing, only to be proven wrong when the President unveils his entire hand.
