3-D chess FAIL: Sanduvol won't be your puppet (Original Post) WhaTHellsgoingonhere Feb 2016 OP
Good. If "think about the Supreme Court" is a vote-for-Dems mantra, let's not nominate Repubbies. nt villager Feb 2016 #1

Every pundit weighed in and said it was brilliant because it was going to force the Rs hand (I know many here, disgracefully not all, thought it was ridiculous regardless of the motivation). I don't see any reason for pressure. I see my name getting whipped around and I put the kibosh on it.

i'm hoping to see a nomination every week, preferably a highly qualified minority with unquestionable judicial merit, for the senate to publicly reject.

doesn't really matter if the person declines the nomination, as long as the senate isn't going to take it up anyway

President Obama can just keep hammering on this thing, it's a very nice gift from the GOP to Obama -- is his birthday coming up or something? -- it'd be a shame to waste that kind of love.

at how quick some of you are to assume the President doesn't know what he's doing.

Issue, after issue, day after day.

forward to seeing how Sandoval played out, but this was fast. Interestingly, I hadn't realized but Sandoval himself is a strong figure and could be a presidential contender in future if he wished. Maybe inevitable blowback from the McConnell et ilk convinced him there was no way they were going to approve his nomination.

themselves the last few days with a completely different narrative than what actually played out. In short, this outcome was never considered a as possibility and is a huge let down.

Looking forward to the next thread and game of 3-D chess!

What the fuck was Obama thinking anyway? He must be spending too much time listening to the "Take What You're Given and Like It" coming out of his former SecState.
