The only thing being lost at Weight Watcher's is it's shares

since hiring Oprah to be it's spokeswoman and fellow investor. I love Oprah, but gotta say I laugh and shake my head every time she is shown in that ad, so excited to tell us how she "loves bread". I often respond out loud, "Good for you...isn't that special". It just seems so silly and trivial given all the important things going on in the world...things she used to give her voice to. I just think it's a waste of her talents and potential to affect important change, and honestly it does seem that more and more high profile women are embracing their full figured bodies.

Oprah effect fails to lift Weight Watchers sales; shares plunge

Weight Watchers International Inc (WTW.N) reported a 21 percent drop in quarterly revenue, undermining hopes that new investor and media mogul Oprah Winfrey would help boost sales, sending its shares down more than 27 percent in extended trading.

The company roped in Winfrey as its public face in October, in a bid to use her popularity to lift subscription numbers and reverse a nearly three-year decline in sales.

Winfrey, who made a $43.2 million investment for a 10 percent stake, was also added to the company's board.

Her involvement was seen as a much-needed boost, with the stock more than doubling to $13.92 on Oct. 19, when the partnership was announced. The stock had fallen 68 percent since the beginning of 2015 to its Oct. 16 close.

Hasn't she been going up and down the weight scale for years, like so many of us?
Might not make the perfect role model, but then hey, she invested $43.2 million in Weight Watchers.

She's advertising it now as a way to learn how to change your eating patterns, a lifestyle change instead of a diet. She's made comments about how she'll never be skinny but she wants to be healthy and fit. The bread thing is about how you can make a lifestyle change but still enjoy the food you love-in moderation. It's also a direct appeal to those who have tried the LCHF craze, such as Atkins, and have failed.

It may seem annoying but I understand what she's trying to say.
