How America's Super-Rich Are Draining the Poor of a Longer Life Span

The American people have a deep sense of fairness. We are angry about the dramatic rise in the pay gap between the top 100 CEOs and the average worker -- a gap which has widened from $45 to $1 in 1970 to a whopping $844 to $1 today. (Please see Runaway Inequality for more data)

A new study shows that runaway inequality also is creating a more deadly gap -- a growing life expectancy gap between the rich and the poor.

Just as with inequality, there always has been a gap in life expectancy based on income. But something new and disturbing is now underway: The life expectancy gap is accelerating. Runaway inequality is robbing lower income groups of the longevity they deserve.

This was not expected. On the contrary, as our country grew richer and richer, we believed the gap would narrow. Advances in medicine, health education and our overall standard of living should have increased the life-spans for every group, regardless of income, race or ethnicity.

They ravenously feed off of the rest of us to support their financial blood lust. As influence, money, power, and other resources flow to them, it weakens and destroys the rest of us. Make no mistake, WE ARE THEIR VICTIMS.

they suck the blood and treasures from the 99% but don't want them around long enough to become a draw on the system (i. e., medicare, social security, etc).

Fight all the wars... Protect all the property... Create all the wealth...

One might think they'd be grateful. But, nooooooo.

The film is amazing. You will cry, seeing the stuff you believe in made plain as day.

In Italy, people work to live...In Iceland, banksters go to jail (thank you, William K. Black)...In Finland, kids go to school to learn how to learn...

My wife and I went Tuesday. We're still talking about it.

Amazing, isn't it, the way other countries and peoples look at the simplest things that enrich their lives tremendously. Thanks for the head's-up. I look for it this weekend.

Speaking of: Have a GREAT weekend!

Thanks for the recommendation. Hope it wins the Oscar for Best Picture. The casino where people were betting on the derivatives was the best explanation of the banksters ever. Thank you for the heads-up on an unforgettable film. Hope you have a great weekend!

in sick matters. A lifetime of better nutrition...a lifetime of not stressing about bus schedules and increasing rent and vehicle repairs and hot water heater leaks...

That shit adds up.
