The major media talking point is Republicans denouncing Donald Trump for his delay in disavowing David Duke's endorsement. The media publishes fluff pieces about Paul Ryan denouncing Donald Trump's delay.
Yet, for all this noise, do "mainstream" Republicans actually have any disagreement with Donald Trump on issues of race. For example, what about voter suppression and voter ID laws designed to suppress the votes of minority communities? Shouldn't the media ask Republicans to put their money where their mouth is denounce the widespread efforts by Republicans to prevent minorities from voting?
Sadly, the media's fluff pieces almost appear designed to portray Republicans as moderates by focusing entirely on cosmetic issues like whether Donald Trump immediately denounced David Duke or took a few hours to do so. So what? If, at the end of the day, Republicans are still actively discriminating against minorities by disenfranchising them, what difference does it make?

(17,387 posts)Don't cry crocodile tears about Donald Trump being divisive and discriminating against groups when the GOP strategy for victory depends in large part on depressing voter turnout.

(1,508 posts)we have known about their racism for years, it was made even more prevalent than many thought with the Lee Atwater apology on his death bed. These people are sick, and I believe what they are trying to do is act as though they have no past. If this country doesn't get rid of this abhorrent party we are done as a nation.
