A better understanding of the prevalence of "Corporate Democrats" (POLL)

That there are Corporate Republicans is beyond doubt -- consider, for example, The Club for Growth. But lately I have been wondering if there are likewise a notable amount of "Corporate Democrats." Democrats who want not to "Occupy Wall Street," but instead to befriend. Democrats who have no problem with Democratic politicians being paid extraordinary sums to speak before gigantic banks. Democrats with a ready sympathy for the 1%, believing one of the important tasks of government should be to alleviate the hardships the 1% face. Democrats who give special consideration to candidates who are themselves from the 1%, as such candidates are in a better position to relate to these hardships (e.g., the difficulty in finding that very rare hair stylist who can give exquisite $600 haircuts).

As I have thought about all this, I have noted that at DU I have never observed any post whose author I would suspect is indeed a Corporate Democrat. But now I wonder: Are any Corporate Democrats at DU keeping their sympathies toward Wall Street a highly guarded secret? Is it that, for example, they fear scorn from other Democrats should their Wall Street sympathies come out? Should Democratic Underground be more welcoming to any Corporate Democrats?

So I offer a quick poll:

Would you consider yourself to be a Corporate Democrat?

Billionaire George Soros supports the democratic party as do other billionaires. Blue collar workers like my neighbors support the democratic party and everyone in between.

Everyone that does so supports it for their own reasons. Heck I've know some nasty assed racists that vote democratic. Or at least did till Obama ran.

So what's the OP going to do if he finds people here on DU that support the democratic party because they are sympathetic to corporations?

Will they be outed and hounded off the forum?

What if they support the democratic party because the economy does better under the democrats and they support corporations because their retirement depends on 401k or IRA investments in corporations?

Another thought, does the OP believe that corporate executives populate DU?

It barely uses the work corporatist if at all. It doesn't mention individuals not running for office. It also focuses on Chaffee and Webb, not as corporatists but as former republicans.

Your OP was asking if there were any corporatist democrats on DU.

Hillary Clinton.

My post above need not re-enforce my other post. It can have value apart from that, & the video can too.

of the important tasks of gov't should be to alleviate the hardships the 1% face." and then lumped in "politicians being paid extraordinary sums to speak before gigantic banks." (This is an anti-Hillary post).

Hillary doesn't get those fees because she is doing something for them, she gets those fees because the market demands it. The quid pro quo is She gets a speakers fee; they get an A list speaker. It is absurd to suggest otherwise.

for the record, here are some other speaker fees:

Donald Trump $1 million from the Learning Annex
Ronald Reagan: $1 million per speech from a Japanese company
Tony Blair: $616,000
Rudy Guiliani: $270,000
Alan Greenspan: $250,000
Ben Bernacke: $200,000 to $400,000
under $100,000: Jeb Bush, Madeline Albright, Colin Powell, David Plouffe

I'm going to call b.s. when I see it, and to me this is b.s.
