(41,861 posts)If you have had a lot of fires, like which sometimes happens in Southern California, the trees are burned down to the roots. When that happens, the soil has nothing to hold on to, so add a little water, and down hill gravity, and whoosh!! Mudslides!

(41,861 posts)get down there to you.. Hopefully its traveling in a south westerly directions. We have a high wind advisory as well. High Profile Vehicles will get blown off the road if not careful.

(27 posts)Bring it on! Climate change has been very tough on California with record breaking heat and drought. 75-degree days in February with minimal rain, and consecutive Januarys in 2014 and 2015 with virtually no precipitation have been awful.

I'm in the Cole Valley area.
I started a couple of weeks ago as the primary season has heated up. I originally supported the establishment candidate but switched after being inspired by the alternative.

(417 posts)Waiting for the power to go out. High winds/driving rain... It will be an uneasy night as the storm will increase as the hours pass.
There are skylights in all the rooms and it is NOT a peaceful sound here. :::looks for earplugs:::
