Man dies after being detained at S. California Walmart

COVINA, Calif. (AP) — Police say a suspected shoplifter died at a Southern California Walmart store after a fight with store security workers who caught him in the parking lot.

Covina police Lt. Holly Francisco says when police arrived Friday they found the suspect restrained by store security and appearing to need medical help. Officers called paramedics and the man was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Francisco says the suspect had been accused of stealing clothing and body wash. ...................(more)

but where I worked security joked about if you are going to beat someone do it out of camera range. They never beat anyone that I know of, I am pretty sure it really was joking. Anyway, maybe these guys aren't as smart. At the end of the article someone seems confused about why paramedics weren't called, which baffles me. If they did beat the guy how would that 911 call sound? Like this? "this is security at Walmart, we just beat a guy he seems to need medical attention, please hurry."
