It has occurred to me a number of times that there is a possibility of the candidacy of the drumpf was meant to expose the corruption in our halls of governance. If that were the case in any way, I would say that the intent would be to completely expose the mechanisms of the corruption and in that case, mission almost accomplished - there is the convention yet to come that should prove informative in ways we probably can't imagine.

It really has been converted into a reality teevee show after all.

There is a faction who want to "kill" the government so I can imagine there will be a lot of interesting turns as we march on to election day and beyond.

Who knew, when Drumpf slithered down that escalator and into the campaign last June, that we'd end up here.

Even the most inveterate "low-info", apolitical voters are tuning in to see the GOPers blowing themselves up. We can only hope that they're learning something about the true state of the nation at the same time.

learning takes place but I'm not holding my breath... things aren't dire enough for enough people for change to be inevitable.

That escalator theme... He descended - makes me wonder if he felt he was "lowering himself" to the low level he perceives that the GP dwell by choosing to run..? Or maybe where he sees the state of the nation... or maybe where he wants to take us.

I have mixed feelings about it, I want to see those who want to trash democracy in this country get some comeuppance and am a little excited about the turn of events but the more serious part of me feels queasy recognizing that we are teetering on the edge of disaster in league with the fall of the Roman Empire. And all I can do is watch and wave (essentially all my vote is worth) as I watch tectonic plates slither by.
