http://www.vox.com/2016/3/8/11178766/stephen-colbert-donald-trump-late-showSeriously. He said, "I can't believe that these are absolutely legitimate jokes to be making about a presidential debate right now."
Colbert's disbelief came in response to Donald Trump literally defending the size of his penis during a bizarre feud with Marco Rubio about the size of Trump's hands and other body parts....
"Pretty low," Colbert said. "Though not quite the lowest rung. We still haven't hit onstage nut punch followed by closing statement delivered via one long burp. But it's only March."

(23,955 posts)i mean, there was a sense that it was going to get outrageous at some point with the Donald in there, but 4 months ago i thought it would be limited to a few nasty dog whistles to bring in the racists.
i had no idea how fucked up this was going to get. fuck dog whistles, he has his rallies doing a goddam Heil Trump, straight up right there. and the dick jokes.
Republican primaries used to be boring -- had no interest in voting for any of the candidates, platform was transparently corrupt and damaging, and the candidates themselves were presented as safe and dull authoritarians, like church ushers or assistant principals at a suburban middle school.
the first two conditions still hold, but damn. dayamm.
i had hoped to see the self-immolation of the Republican party in my lifetime, but had no idea it would be so... surreal.
