You have to remember that she is the breadwinner of the family and sometimes has to be absent during family events.

Makes me wonder if there is any parallel here to country singer George Jones.
Jones' wife hid all the car keys so he wouldn't make a quick beer run. He was
stopped by the local police one night on a busy road while on his way to the
local liquor store while driving his lawn tractor. Luckily he didn't cause any
damage.
