Isn't it also an election-year for Congress?

If Obama doesn't get to put someone on the Supreme Court this short before he leaves office, why does Congress get to make laws this short before the members are up for re-election?

It's OK if you're a Republican was never more appropriate.

Besides, what legislation have they passed lately anyway, other than naming random post offices after dead people?
