It isn't Blitzer that asks the questions, it is the producer's questions... he just asks them. Trump is too much of a money maker (via ad revenue due to the ratings he brings) for any of the networks to make him look too bad. They may tangentially attack him here and there, but there will never be major attacks on him by the networks. The small attacks bring controversy thus ratings. The major attacks risk him either boycotting the networks or him losing the race --neither of which financially benefits the networks.
