Question about Obama's pre-presidency connections to Nato

When Obama was running for the presidency I can recall reading about his earlier
work with NATO, which I believe he was involved with during time in the Senate.
Does anyone recall or have a link to that information? Have been unable to find it
in my searches so far.
on edit - Never mind...found it. If anyone is curious he was, for a very short time
Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Affairs which had jurisdiction over NATO. But this assignment came just as he launched his presidential run so
he didn't serve long or do that much (as pointed out by then candidate and political
rival Hillary Clinton).
