http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/caitlyn-jenner-left-shaken-after-7638898Standing outside the venue, one protester with their face shielded shouts: "Caitlyn Jenner you are an insult to all trans people, you dont represent us. Youre a disgrace to our community. You have no right to speak for us. You get those awards and you dress up but you have no idea what its really like.
Becoming increasingly angry, they continued: Caitlyn Jenner get away from us! We dont get jobs, we dont get any money. But you get all these awards - this isnt all fun and games.
"You dont care about the real transwomen of America - all you care about is what you look like on TV. We dont need you, we dont want you here. You dont speak for us. We didnt ask for your help!"

(14,449 posts)I guess I see both sides but perhaps talking to Caitlyn would be beneficial then yelling at her. It's all new to her right now. The feelings were forever but the transition is still a progress.

(92,394 posts)I think that is what the protester were saying, "you are a hypocrite"
This in light of what happened in North Carolina and Kansas, speaks volumes

(32,052 posts)These protesters are right. Jenner is nothing but a privileged, well-connected show-off.

(254 posts)She has been lucky in that respect, of course. Compared to others who struggle to find accepting family members and then struggle even more to find the money and resources to make the transition, Mrs Jenner's transition was a doddle, so much so that she's even making money off it.
Regarding her political affiliation, I don't think that transgendered individuals lose their right to make free political choices just because they transition. Surely that would be absurd. Transgendered individuals are not a monolith group, after all.

(3,816 posts)I said it then, there's not much about her that's admirable. Nor any of her extended family.
I never understood the hero worship of her here.

(18,870 posts)but I had the feeling that she mostly just liked to get all dressed up in fancy clothes. Being female is a whole lot more complicated than being a fashion statement. Most women don't spend their days getting all decked out in designer duds.
But I wish her well. I hope she finds who she is and can be at peace with herself.
