Ted Cruz wants to ban masturbation, says sex-toys are like hiring a prostitute

http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/4/13/1514818/-Call-of-the-Dildos-The-Ted-Cruz-Story

Getting attention today: The court case in which Republican now-presidential candidate Ted Cruz, then the Texas solicitor general, ferociously defended the state's law barring the sale of dildos.

The brief insisted that Texas in order to protect "public morals" had "police-power interests" in "discouraging prurient interests in sexual gratification, combating the commercial sale of sex, and protecting minors." There was a "government" interest, it maintained, in "discouraging...autonomous sex." The brief compared the use of sex toys with "hiring a willing prostitute or engaging in consensual bigamy," and it equated advertising these products with the commercial promotion of prostitution. In perhaps the most noticeable line of the brief, Cruz's office declared, "There is no substantive-due-process right to stimulate one's genitals for non-medical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship."

Sometimes, seeming suggestive is worse than just saying it.

For example, despite my quirky quasi-Victorian personality, in the right circumstances, I can post "fuck" without blushing or reconsidering, but I deleted three or four unintentionally "dirty" replies.

That justifies Ted in screwing around outside of his marriage. However, someone should challenge him to find that quote in the Bible. (Hint: it isn't there.)

Lawrence v. Texas, 539 U.S. 558 (2003) is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court. The Court struck down the sodomy law in Texas and, by extension, invalidated sodomy laws in 13 other states, making same-sex sexual activity legal in every U.S. state and territory. The Court, with a five-justice majority, overturned its previous ruling on the same issue in the 1986 case Bowers v. Hardwick, where it upheld a challenged Georgia statute and did not find a constitutional protection of sexual privacy.

Lawrence explicitly overruled Bowers, holding that it had viewed the liberty interest too narrowly. The Court held that intimate consensual sexual conduct was part of the liberty protected by substantive due process under the 14th Amendment. Lawrence invalidated similar laws throughout the United States that criminalized sodomy between consenting adults acting in private, whatever the sex of the participants.[1]

The case attracted much public attention, and a large number of amici curiae ("friends of the court&quot briefs were filed. Its outcome was celebrated by gay rights advocates, who hoped that further legal advances might result as a consequence.

I hope that this case will aid in overturning all these other privacy invading laws and that they will set further precedents which will backfire on the Republican Puritans!

- They want to police bathrooms
- They want to make masturbation illegal
- Creepy old douchebags say that they would pose as trans so they could enter the women's bathroom

And yet they're the ones who commit the most sex crimes.

You buy sex toys to keep.
You rent time with prostitutes.

Unless Ted's experiences are just renting sex toys..............I just pictured the weirdest foul smelling knock off of Blockbuster ever.
Or
He is involved in human trafficking, in which case he did buy sex workers to keep.

In either case....go away Ted. Or rather, simply go away Ted.
