Can you believe they are still discussing Bill Clintons affair almost 20 years ago.
There is one thing that is certain about stupid ass freepers.... They will climb into the gutter any chance they can to go after a Democrat.
I am so glad that we Democrats are above that...aren't you!

(25,699 posts)I can't remember his name, it's kinda like a former president's, Eisenhowie or Cooleridge or the like. Anyway, he has this thigh-slapper of a schtick. you seen this? he come up with inane meta-rants about freeRepublic and how the people there are not pure enough, and disloyal to the party, and otherwise awful subhuman scum, right? Slaps one up every two weeks or so. Now normally RimJob doesn't like that sort of thing, kinda has that 'eleventh commandment" thing going on? But the way reagunner (or whatever) skirts that is kind of genius - I mean, genius for a right-wing lipton-sucker. he just pretends that all the crap he's posting is the findings of forays into Dkos and Huffpo, places like that.
it's weird that anyone really takes Nixodd (really, it's so familiar, I can't place it though!) seriously over there. Not after he admitted how much he enjoys being balls-deep in his neighbor's great dane. Freerepublic is a fucking weird place, wouldn't you agree, Truman, uh, Trumad?

(49,002 posts)Obviously they love Authoritarians, since they almost each poster exhibit classic RW Authoritarian follower traits. Trump is authoritarian as shown by his being a ruthless businessman ("You're fired" and Cruz is a Dominionist (hard christian) authoritarian. FR is more TheRump than Cruzer and is badly split between the two.
Romney is hated for being a mormon, as is mormon Glenn Beck, now that he is on the 'outs'. Everyone they used to love is now on the 'outs' and is considered an evil traitorous tool of the GOPe (GOP elite): Bush I, Bush II, Bush III, Rove, Fox, Hannity, Beck, Ryan, Gingrich, McCain, .... The only ones who have survived are Reagan and Palin. Rush and Coulter get some love and Buchanan seems to still do well with Freepers.

(25,699 posts)The unimaginable amount of jew-hate pouring out of every orifice over there. The really weird thing is that so many of them are trying to woo Black Voters by citing Nation of Islam's "The Secret Relationship" books. Almost verbatim! 'Course I don't think it'll work, with how overtly negrophobic they and their lead candidate are.
And then, oh, oh man, did you see all the overt defense for rape? Like seriously, these guys over there, they think that having a woman in your employ is free reign to demand she get on her knees. How do they live with themselves?
Did you catch any of their anti-papist ranting, the conspiracy theories about the Vatican infiltrating and influencing US elections? it's weird.
And of course, not a one of them can cite a reason why they love their candidate so hard. it all boils down to just hating the other guy, and wanting to see him hurt, destroyed, ruined. it's so weird to watch people polishing their party registration like a badge of morality, work so hard to obliterate nearly half of that same party.
They're a bunch of weirdoes, barely above a violent hate movement. i'm glad I'm not suffering this sightseeing tour alone, Trumad.

You would think only the dumbest fuckwads in America would be this stupid...oh wait they are all freepers, so it makes sense now.
I'm so glad we here at DU are way above that sort of trollish behavior. That we support the party and will defend whomever is our nominee. Anything else would be nothing more then acting just like freepers...again, thank goodness we are above that juvenile way of thinking.
So happy to be around grown, intelligent adults that are loyal to the party and not their particular pony. People like that are only interested in dividing up Dems and making sure we lose. But that is at other websites, not here.

(49,002 posts)Officially, RimJob (Jim Robinson, chief nabob and tin pot dictator) endorses Cruz but would happily vote for Hair Drumpführer.
During 2015 there were many factions, but some people got purged by RimJob, especially the Giuliani supporters since he is viewed as a left-wing pro-abortionist.
The main thesis of FR members is that the Republican party is finished because McConnel and Boehner / Ryan have totally capitulated to Obama's marxist agenda to destroy the USA.
About 65 percent of the site views TheRump as a straight-talking man who is beholden to nobody, who will shake up the GOPe (GOP elite, a favorite term of theirs), run the government like the brilliant businessman he is, rebuild America's devastated military, and put foreign countries in their place (far behind US interests). They see Cruz as a lying whining Cuban-Canadian who cheats, is in bed with Wall Street and is not a real conservative because he gave out gift packages to 'illegals' at the border recently.
The other 35 percent of the site views Cruz as a brilliant constitutionalist who is beholden to nobody (because nobody likes him personally), who will shake up the GOPe and run the government like a christian dominion. They see Trump as a careless whining Democrat who is too stupid to read the rules, donates to all parties and all politicians, and is not a real conservative because he ran casinos and has waffled on guns and abortion.
FR is dull between presidential elections but this cycle has been particularly entertaining as the blindness of them all is hilariously on parade and their habit of cherry-picking tidbits of information is on full display.

(49,002 posts)Over a decade ago, when I encountered FR, I marveled at how anyone could think the way they do. But instead of simply dismissing RW conservatives (a mistake because they are so harmful), I studied their mindset in various ways. The most illuminating model turned out to be Right Wing Authoritarian Followers (cf. Altemeyer, an American at U Manitoba, http://home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~altemey/ ). Viewed through that lens, their mindset becomes clearer and more predictable and therefore easier to counteract and defeat. From my journal: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=7680127 and http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=1352909
When I say half the country, it is less than half because Democrats / Progressives / Liberals predominate over Republicans / Regressives / Conservatives. Further, the FR element is so extreme that they represent about 3 % of the country though they think they actually represent about 70 % of the country since they think the USA is inherently and definitely conservative if only the sheeple could be freed from the tyranny of the left-wing liberal main stream media (they include Fox in that group now).

95. It is an Irish and Celtic symbol.
It is also a common pagan symbol. However, it is also used by neo-Nazis and when this was pointed out a few weeks back, some people decided it would be a "good time" to change their avatars. To me, that was a move to mock anti-Semitism, not express pride in Irish/Celtic heritage or paganism.
Before a few weeks ago, I never batted an eye when I saw that avatar, because the person baring it was either pagan or Celtic oriented, usually the former. Then I started seeing them all over the place and was really confused as to why. I was then told what had happened and given that three of the first people I saw using it have had incidents of anti-Semitism in their past, I knew it wasn't about "pride" of any kind, but about mocking Jews and anti-Semitism.
It is a definitely a symbol, at least in travels, associated with pagans, but I have seen it used by many neo-Nazis. It is a situation where context will determine whether it is being used for good or ill.

ADL...
The League reports that it is most commonly the sun cross version of the Celtic Cross that is used by White Supremacists, although this, too, may not always be true. Many people of Irish birth and heritage remain unaware of the hateful ways in which this important part of Irish culture is used by others.
The Celtic Cross, as typically depicted, is a traditional Christian symbol used for religious purposes as well as to symbolize concepts like Irish pride, the League's web site explains.
As such, it is a very common symbol and primarily used by non-extremists.
The overwhelming use of this version of the Celtic Cross is non-extremist and, in the absence of other hate symbols, does not denote white supremacy or racism.
BtA words:
It is a definitely a symbol, at least in travels, associated with pagans, but I have seen it used by many neo-Nazis. It is a situation where context will determine whether it is being used for good or ill.
Yeah, some nasty people use it. Note the word some SOME. My brother has this as part of a tattoo. He's not a Nazi. It's his tattoo to honor my grandmother & his son after their deaths.
There's a concerted effort recently to harass posters that use this as their avatar. Some have used it since forever. It's a bullying tactic. It's been insinuated that they might be 'those people' . And it sucks. If really fucking sucks.
I will point it out every time I see it. Not just because it's bullying, but because it's part of my heritage. My brother wears this on his body to honor his dead son (my nephew) and my granny. Anyone that wants to insinuate 'Nazism'..well I will speak up.

(10,857 posts)That's no way to go through life, chained to stupid beliefs, fearing the change that their own success is accelerating, betrayed at every turn by the rapacious criminals who play upon their inability to think rationally.
I wish there were a way to explain to them that if you are forgiving of hypocrisy and willing to believe stupid shit, then you are perfectly free to change your damned mind and believe in things that aren't stupid, that don't harm yourself and others. You are free to change your ways and forgive yourself for the evil you have wrought through your hatred.
Maybe someone could re-write the Bible so that it encourages people to forgive and change their evil ways, to leave behind the xenophobic hatred and violence of the first version and encourage instead love and peace and tolerance for your fellow humans.
Oh wait. They tried that, already.

Now, I don't mind what consenting adults do, but I ask myself what I would do if I was a huge public personality and the President, and the question "Should I play with a cigar and a vagina in the Oval Office?" came up. I think it's monumentally stupid to say "Hell, whatever...go for it!". Really stupid.
But of course the GOP is gonna bring it up. And every other scandal that was ever real, half real, completely made up about all Clintons alive today. There is an irrational hatred of anything Clinton on the right. Those on the left who don't like them have rational reasons.... like the huge amount of baggage for the GOP to rummage thru.
