These colours do run! French runners cover themselves in brightly coloured powder

in front of Eiffel Tower along the banks of the Seine as they complete five kilometre paint race in Paris

Parisians show the terrorists what April In Paris is all about. They will never be cowed or silenced. November is a fading nightmare. The good weather is back--time to enjoy this gorgeous city.

* Thousands of people were covered in paint as they made their way past some of the city's famous landmarks
* French capital's Colour Run 2016 is about 'colors, fun and pleasure' and not about the pace of the race
* Each kilometre of the course is split up into colour sections where volunteers throw coloured powder over runners
* Goal is not to finish first but to cross the finish line at the iconic Eiffel Tower as colourful as possible

Paris was bathed in colour as thousands of people ran along the banks of the Seine to the Eiffel Tower through bright clouds of powder

The French capital's Colour Run 2016 is less about speed - the emphasis is on fun instead of timings on the 5km course

Participants are encouraged to cross the finish line as colorful as possible during the ultimate five kilometre fun run

Each kilometre is split into colour sections where volunteers throw coloured powder made from natural cornstarch base over the runners

4. Is cornstarch asthma-genic? Luckily, I don't suffer from it, so can't say.

But, just getting the stuff in your eyes would hurt, seems to me. I think that's why you see lots of runners wearing goggles.

7. I can see it triggering an attack. Never actaully had one induced by cornstarch.

But it is a fine powder, and that can trigger them in me. Chalk dust, regular dust, saw dust...

When I was still teaching, chalk dust used to make me sneeze.
