http://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/davidbadash/watch_ted_cruz_explains_to_married_gay_gop_voter_the_only_protection_he_needs_is_religious_libertyTed Cruz is no stranger to gay Republicans from New York, having dined in the home of a New York City real estate developer last year, but he seemed a bit uncomfortable Monday morning at a "Good Morning America" town hall. Small business owner Todd Calogne, introduced as "undecided but leaning toward Donald Trump" told Cruz he is "a life-long Republican" and "married to my husband for two years now."
"I've noticed a lot of religious freedom laws," Calogne said, "and a lot of institutionalized discrimination laws, happening around the country. What would you as president do to protect me and my husband from institutionalized discrimination?," he asked....
"I have spent my entire adult life fighting to defend religious liberty," Cruz continued. "And I think that keeping government out of your lives, protects the freedom of every one of us."
Ted Cruz absolutely believes that there should be no laws protecting LGBT people or same-sex couples so that everyone else can be "protected."

(53,521 posts)1. Cruz is going to be absolutely destroyed in NYC, tomorrow.
NYC Republicans tend to be wealthy Libertarian-ish types voting for Kaisich and xenophobic working class ethnic whites voting for Trump.

(5,946 posts)2. remember that married guy that owned a hotel popular with gays in NYC and
hosted a fund raiser for Cruz with his husband a couple of years ago. He had to back track big time when that hit the news, people were cancelling reservations. First he was hosting it because they were old friends, but they weren't, then it was he didn't know Cruz or what he stood for some one asked him to host that party. also did not hold water.
Apparently the mighty dollar is more important that your personal freedom to live your life.
