Greensboro: Danville, VA, a short drive north.
Asheville: Greenville, SC, across the Blue Ridge.
Wilmington: Myrtle Beach, SC, just down the road a piece.
Raleigh is not too far from the Virginia line, but there doesn't seem to be a decent-sized town in the "Southside".

(86,646 posts)little issue. Most bands on the road use them, they are very nice and accommodate overnight ventures. Even staying at a rest area... long as they don't spend $$ there.
