Excited to get the new Harriet Tubman $20 bill? You'll have to wait 14 years!!

The change to Tubman may not take place anytime soon. CNN reported Sunday the soonest the U.S. could see the new $20 would be 2030. A Treasury official did not immediately return a request for more information on when Tubman could feasibly appear on the $20 note.

I remember in 2008 when the end of the State Quarters was near - they were already planning the next round of quarters with the National Parks quarters.

The country is finally doing the right thing with adding not just a woman but a woman of color to the $20 bill but we will all have to wait 14 years until we see it.

I'm calling BULLSHIT.

I understand it might take a year or so to design the bill but they should be able to get this new bill ready to roll out by 2020.

Lew said that he had already directed the Bureau of Printing and Engraving to accelerate the process for these bills. He wouldn't name a specific date for their release, but said that a rumored date of 2030 "is not a date that has any status."
