(17,064 posts)Reports last night said the rioters were primarily young latinos. I doubt they would have any association with Cruz, and if registered to vote are most likely Independants. I think they just hate Trump...understandable given his bashing of the Latino community.

(82,849 posts)After all, the candidate they are opposing has shown no compunction in talking about indiscriminately killing people on the flimsiest of pretexts. Now, for some folks in a more secure or stable position, they might wave off Trump's pronouncements as simply "Donald being Donald."
But other people may have a more precarious situation in our society, and feel that they and their loved ones are in mortal danger from Trump's demagoguery (whether deep down in his heart of hearts Trump believes what he's saying or not).
But I'm unclear on what tactics qualify as fascist in this demonstration?

(17,064 posts)The political establishment of both parties has been too busy lining their pockets in exchange for the corporate favors they hand out. The people may be disorganized, perhaps not even fully aware of who's screwing them, but there's no lack of rage.

(14,174 posts)They quite naturally get upset with the racism, sexism, and boorishness of a right wing candidate like Trump. Some get very upset and show their frustrations to the camera. Then these actions get filtered through the corporate news editors who highlight what they want and omit what they want. Trump and Fox News will then use this as a "poor poor me look at these awful commie thugs and radicals coming to stop my free speech rights because they don't want others to hear my great message". And his popularity goes up further.

(35,345 posts)makes me wonder if some of these protesters are Trump people. Wouldn't carrying the Mexican flag to protest his stand on immigration be kind of counterproductive?
