Pat McCrory Tries To Plead His Case For HB2 on Fox News, Megyn Kelly Destroys His Argument

http://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/davidbadash/watch_pat_mccrory_tries_to_plead_his_case_for_hb2_on_fox_news_megyn_kelly_destroys_his_argument

Governor Pat McCrory may have assumed he was on friendly territory Thursday night but it became apparent quickly in was in for a tough interview. The North Carolina Republican has become the face of the highly-controversial and, many legal experts say, unconstitutional HB2, a wide-sweeping anti-LGBT law that bans transgender people from using public restrooms that conform to their gender identity.

After two minutes of explanation, Fo News host Megyn Kelly opens hard: "Governor, what was the fear that led to the enactment of this law?"...

Kelly wasn't going to let McCrory steer the interview his way, interrupting him to state that HB2 applies to public restrooms. "But why?," she asked again. "What was the concern? What was the evidence, specifically, that led you to believe this was a problem?"...

"I’ve been in women’s bathrooms my whole life," she quipped. "And we don’t have the urinal situation. We got like the stalls. We get to go in, we do our business, and like it’s not – we don’t see each other. So why are you concerned about young girls exposing themselves or seeing somebody else exposed, in a women’s bathroom?”

I'm starting to warm up to Megyn Kelly. First she takes down Trump, now McCrony!

She's sort of consistently shitty on race. Although I will say it's not like I watch her show, this is what I gather from other people's posts about her

I feel sorry for someone who thinks that is the most important thing and trumps all else.

I know they are out there but I suspect they will fade away over time as society progresses.

It's more of a sadness that folks still see life that way and an optimistic hope that they eventually grow beyond it.

If anything it is an acknowledgement.

You would be much better off with a more expensive way of interacting with the world.

You know the old saying 'if you've only got a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail?'

If all you have is a race driven framework of interaction then everything starts to look like.... Wait for it... Racism...

The world is more complex than you realize and I suspect you are missing out.

Good luck

Most public bathrooms have just one door in and out. The hypothetical predator haunting Republican brains would be awfully stupid to pick that venue to commit his special crime. My experience has been that rapists and molesters don't want to be caught; they want to keep offending.

She cuts through Trump's bullshit like a hot knife through butter. I rarely see her because I generally don't watch Fox, but I respect her ability.

...but it's so true: Women don't expose themselves the public restrooms. They use the stalls.

And how insecure must you be if you're a guy who would get the vapors because a male transexual used the men's room?
