(35,348 posts)the right is always talking about them not learning English, they want to stay in this country but wave the Mexican flag.
That just turns more people against them IMO.

Most of us are [ pick your ethnicity]-American. Why shouldn't they wave a Mexican flag? You assume they are illegal immigrants who want to stay here, but you don't know that they aren't Americans of Mexican heritage (some of whose families go back hundreds of years in what is now the U.S.), Americans born of Mexican immigrant parents, or, indeed, immigrants legal or not who seek a way to live here freely.
The sign makes a great point, that Mexicans are hardly "aliens" here.

(35,348 posts)support and probably will turn more people off. A large percentage of Americans think this country is Mexican enough already.
If you want to be accepted in the USA carry a US flag. That is the argument that the right makes they won't learn English and
assimilate into our society like other immigrants have.
