Mr. Romney and his wife take regular walks around La Jolla, exchanging pleasantries with fellow strollers and occasionally enforcing the law. A young man in town recalled that Mr. Romney confronted him as he smoked marijuana and drank on the beach last summer, demanding that he stop.
The issue appears to be a recurring nuisance for the Romneys. Mr. Quint, who lives on the waterfront near Mr. Romney, said that a police officer had asked him, on a weekend when the candidate was in town, to report any pot smoking on the beach. The officer explained to him that your neighbors have complained, Mr. Quint recalled. He was pretty clear that it was the Romneys.

(47,675 posts)If I were said "young man", I'd have just told him to go fuck himself and to call Mr. Frothy to see if they want to do a doggie threesome on the car roof.
With Rmoney as a neighbor, I'm sure the property values have plummeted. Otherwise I would suggest that Mr. Quint sell his house to a drug gang with loud cars, loud stereos, and muffler-free motorcycles and move to a more hospitable neighborhood.

(111,339 posts)I like the people in this disgusting, downtrodden working class barrio a hell of a lot better.
And I agree about selling the fancy address to the biker drug gang. There's one down the street from me all ready to go. They'd get a kick out of living in a mansion for a change.

Now that I've read the article, it bares little resemblance to the NYT article that Scarborough was ranting about this morning. He made it sound like an over-the-top liberal hit piece and its just a story about the pros and cons of a high profile politician moving into an established neighborhood.
Proving yet again that Joe Scarborough looks for reasons to talk so he can hear the sound of his own voice.

Yes, yes Joe, we all know you were in Congress long, long ago, in a land far, far away. Could he be a bigger bore?

(42,770 posts)on this CA construction project is that it shows how autocratic he is. Surely dozens
of advisers said, "Look Mitt, you've got a Richy-Rich perception problem. We strongly
advise you to wait on this project." And he said too bad, I'm doing it. Just like
the whole dog on the roof deal. If you read Feb Vanity Fair article about it (based
on interviews with his sons)..what popped out to me was how they said Mitt meticulously
planned the trip - down to exact locations they would stop for gas. He warned them
all that there would be NO exceptions, no other stops. Sure, my dad was not much
on stopping either - but he would have never, ever set such autocratic rules like that.
Romney is anal retentive to the core.
