On this day in Labor History the year was 1935. That was the day that began a strike of lumber workers across the Pacific Northwest. Lumberman had enough of long hours, dangerous conditions, and low pay. Plans for the strike began at a meeting of the Sawmill and Timber Workers Union in late March.
