It seems I spend half my day in the material world telling people....

...that climate change is a real threat, Obama is doing a good job, and that some people deserve a social safety net. I debate that the death penalty is unreliable vengeance, and women should be in control of their maternal destiny. I argue that unions are key to better lifestyle and that everybody deserves at least a living wage.

Then I come here to the virtual world and have to defend myself for being an unofficial member of The Tea Party. I'm told that I'm not a liberal because I don't meet certain rules about what should be at the top of my concern list, and that I should go to a far right web site.

Sometimes I just feel like reminding both ends of the political spectrum that even Mario Andretti took his foot off the pedal now and then.

Can't we just be ourselves?

Damn, wasn't until I got online that I began to learn there are so many rules and regulations required simply to be myself.

Keep at life, JohnnyRingo, and keep the mock-Latin aphorism close at hand:

"Illegitimi non carborundum" (Don't let the bastards grind you down).
